Strawberry season is very short up here in North. The chilly summer weather keeps the berries relatively small in size, but the midnight sun fills them with pure sweetness.
The proper place to buy strawberries is market square. Supermarkets sell strawberries too, but the feeling is not the same. On market square you can compare the price, the breed, the taste and the colour of berries of different providers – and also the atmosphere in the sales booth matters.
If you go to picnic, a box of strawberries is a must. If you have birthday in early July, strawberry cake is a must. If you want to save some berries in freezer to cheer up the dark winter, a 5 kg box is a must. Correction: 5 kg is the minimum.
