Jädelino is an Italian-style small gelato factory at Teurastamo, the former Helsinki abattoir area. Jädelino is the place to go for the best ice cream in town. Passion for ice cream, fresh and tasty ingredients, small batches, awareness for diets and allergies, good coffee, and cozy not-too-polished atmosphere make Jädelino to stand out as my absolute favourite café in Helsinki – all around the year.
The selection varies from day to day. Jädelino’s pistachio ice cream recently won an award of best vegan ice cream – and the dairy-free pistachio gelato is usually available. My current favourite is apple: Valerio and Tiina, the owners of Jädelino, recently hooked up with an apple juice producer, and now they are making the freshest ice cream as the byproduct of juice pressing.
You can choose 1-2 flavours into a small cup, and 1-3 flavours into a big cup. And you feel like you can’t get enough, they’ll weigh you a home-package to take away. All cups and packages are biodegradable.
Dogs are also welcome to Jädelino, and there’s a dedicated dog ice cream on the menu.
